Before 1985, Aundh village was elongated to Golwalkar Guruji School. It was only after 1985 that, Khond Parivar’s multi-storey building was erected at Survey No. 157/1 in Aundh and in the course of this period, a gentleman named Parihar purchased a flat in the same building and established a sweet shop titled 'Parihar Sweet'.
In the middle of the road from Aundh Gaothan to ITI Road and Sanghvinagar to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Vasti, this chowk came to be known as Parihar Sweet. Down the line, what was earlier known as Rajmata Jijau Chowk, due to Parihar Sweet, this chowk is now subsequently known as Parihar Chowk.
