Strawberries are in great demand at Christmas. However, this year, storms and heavy rains have caused severe damage to these crops. Therefore, there is a huge shortage of strawberries compared to the demand in the market at present. As a result, the price of two kg has gone up by Rs 100 to Rs 150 as compared to last year.
Demand for strawberries is increasing from the state as well as from abroad for Christmas. The strawberries from Mahabaleshwar, Wai and Pachgani are famous not only in the country but also in the world. Therefore, these strawberries are in high demand. However, the rains have caused severe damage to the strawberry crop. Trader Arvind More said that there has been a shortage of strawberries in the market since the beginning of the season due to a significant decline in production.
