Naam mein kya rakha hai or It's all in the name? Let's find out

Ever wondered what would happen if you were to remember all the areas of Pune city with just numbers? Unimaginable, right? Thank God for all the quirky names that people of Pune began to use in order to distinctively remember places. These names need to be preserved because of their heritage and cultural values. One such is the Shree Padosya Vitthal Temple which is located in Budhwar Peth. It is believed that the surrounding area had sellers of Pasodya meaning bags and Ghongadi, that are woollen blankets and hence, the name. The crossroad at which the temple is situated is known as Pasodya Vittal Mandir Chowk. Today, the temple is surrounded by an electronic market and is known to be a prominent milestone in the palkhi journey.
