Kothrud: Paramahansa Nagar, situated on a dirt road in Kothrud, celebrates the anniversary of the unpaid bus service every year on the day of Padwa. Doubts were being expressed as to whether there would be a birthday celebration during the Corona epidemic. But the elders of Paramahansa Nagar celebrated their favourite activity with the same enthusiasm.
After worshiping the bus, P. S. Dandwat honoured driver Deepak Londhe and carrier Gajendra Dighe with a coconut, a bouquet of flowers and a packet of sweets. At this time, President K. R. Patil, Su. C. Gosavi, Nilesh Ghadole, Avinash Halbe, Rawatekar, Mainkar, Jagannade, Sushma Kalurkar, Vijaya Dangi, Mrs. Deshmukh were present.
Driver Deepak Londhe said that PMPL and Punekar have an emotional relationship. PMPL, the lifeblood of Pune, needs the cooperation of Punekars to get it out of the red. If such initiatives are implemented, more harmony will be created and the efficiency and use of bus service will definitely increase.
P. S. Dandwat said that in order to reach the city, in 1987, Paramahansagar to Deccan Gymkhana bus route no. 102 was started on the occasion of Padwa. This route was later extended to Lohgaon. We have been celebrating birthdays for 33 years in a row since then.
