If You Are A History Buff, Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum Is A Must Visit For You

Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum, in Shukrawar Peth, has an assortment of Dr. Dinkar G. Kelkar (1896–1990), devoted to the memory of his only son, Raja. The museum has three storeys, each displaying different models going back to the fourteenth century. There are door frames, ornaments made of ivory, silver and gold, musical instruments, paintings & carvings, war weapons and vessels. 

His priceless commitment to Indian legacy and heritage has been respected by the Government of India and different renowned foundations and people around the world. In a last generous signal, Late Dr. D.G. Kelkar gave his own assortment to the State Government of Maharashtra in 1975. 

The collection had 15,000 objects from 1920 – 1960. Currently, it holds more than 20,000 objects that recall the historic Indian culture and traditions, of which 2,500 are in display.
