Consumers prefer healing figs
Marketyard: Figs are known as a healthy fruit. Due to corona, this fruit is in demand from consumers in wholesale and retail markets. Therefore, in the wholesale market, good quality figs are fetching Rs 80 to Rs 100 per kg. In the retail market, the standard is Rs 60 to Rs 150. The rate has increased by more than 10 per cent over the previous year.

Figs are coming from Haveli taluka in the fruit market in the market yard. Coming from Purandar taluka will start soon. Two figs are sour and salty. Currently, sour season figs are being sold in the market. Good quality goods cost Rs 80 to Rs 100, while medium quality goods cost Rs 40 to Rs 60. About 3 to 4 tons of figs are arriving in the market every day. Trader Rohan Ursal informed that figs are being sold in Pune city as there is demand from consumers.
