Divyang Vidyarthi Prasad Nangre and Akanksha Pedgaonkar planted trees at Lal Bahadur Shastri Primary School and Special Children's School Shivajinagar Gaothan to celebrate World Disability Day. Assistant Administrative Officer Shivaji Adhagale, Headmaster Sadiq Attar, Teacher Varsha Khodve, teachers and teaching staff were present on the occasion. Sanitizers and masks were distributed to all the disabled students during this time. Sandeep Kale, a member of the Tree Conservation Committee, provided the saplings. Baby Borkar, Sagar Kurde, Amit Nizampurkar, Ashwin Sanap made special efforts to make the program a success.
Briefly about school
This special school for disabled students is run by Pune Municipal Corporation. Various activities are implemented in the school for the overall development and progress of the disabled students. Although the school is currently closed due to corona, special educators are trying to reach out to Divyang children through online education. Physiotherapy and ball therapy are given to the disabled students so that they can move easily. The school has been made a doll house keeping in mind the difficulties faced by the disabled students in their daily life. These students are trained to become self-reliant.
